It took Panasonic a long time to understand what a real photographer’s tool should look like. Many-myself included- consider the GH2 Pany’s highlight, a revolutionary camera capable of producing great photos and fantastic video, replaced by the highly anticipated but less impressive GH3. The GX7 got my attention again, looks like a real camera, silent shutter, in body image stabilization, 1/320 flash sync, articulated viewfinder and LCD, full HD capable recording 60fps, 30fps or 24fps in AVCHD, 30fps in MP4, very impressive as long as you can live with NO EXTERNAL MICROPHONE input. Does Panasonic really believe the GX7 would eat into their pro video sales if it had an external mic jack? Video isn’t for everyone and this certainly looks like a very capable still image device. I am looking forward to get my hands on one soon.
