I had a some time this afternoon and took the D800 for a spin, full size and 100% crops after the break
Lenses used: Nikkor 24-120mm f4/G and Tokina 16-28mm f/2.8

I originally purchased the 24 120mm f/4G for the Nikon D700, it offers the most attractive range in a professional standard zoom and since I rarely use ultra wide angle lenses, I opted for the Tokina 16 28mm over the Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8. The sensor on the D800 is as unforgiving as Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven. Forget about using the 24 120mm at f4, 5.6 is the new wide open . The Tokina fares a little better, great center resolution at all apertures and the lens produces impressive results from f5.6 to 11 across the full frame.
