Zeiss FE 50mm 1.4: to buy or not to buy

The new FE 50mm 1.4 should be a fantastic lens, the big question

of course is, do you need it and will it bring significant benefits over your current 50mm/55mm. If money is no object, of course, just get one. Judging by their recent offerings, this should be a stellar lens.
If you already have the 55mm and are happy with it, skip it, the difference will be negligible.

I love the Zeiss 55mm 1.8, a fantastic piece of glass, however, I do prefer the slightly wider FOV of a 50mm. Lately I have been shooting with the Canon 50mm 1.4 USM again, thanks to the Sigma MC 11. Love the way it renders portraits wide open and particularly at f1.6 to 2, where it produces the smoothest bokeh. Since I mostly shoot portraits, 3/4 or full figure with it, ultimate sharpness isn’t my main concern.
I rarely use 50mm for video, just isn’t very practical, I tend to reach for a slightly longer focal length or zoom.
I certainly would love one but don’t really need one :)
Curious to hear what you guys think about the new 50mm.
