The new Nikkor 58mm f1.4, who is it for?

This lens will not replace your standard 50mm, however, it will appeal to photographers who find themselves going back and forth between the 50mm 1.4 and the 85mm 1.4, photographers who like the bokeh characteristics of the 85mm but prefer the shorter working distance when shooting with the 50mm. If I had to choose between this lens and the newly announced Zeiss Otus 55mm, I would go with the Nikon. The 58mm will produce nicer bokeh and it has AF!

You can preorder the Nikkor 58mm 1.4 here at BH and here at Adorama.
