Street portrait of the day: The first song after the rain


As I walked back from an appointment in the West Village, I spotted the lonely musician in Washington Square Park, right after a downpour, playing for himself, shot with the Panasonic GH4 and the 14mm wide open.
Not much time these days for gear reviews, swamped with work, got the GH4 for video and didn’t have time yet to try it out properly, ironic, isn’t it? The silent mode and af performance catapult it straight to the top for my type of street shooting, a nice bonus, certainly didn’t expect that. :)

Chinatown hasn’t lost its magic since I first visited NYC many years ago. Hardly anything has changed. Most of us, even die-hard new yorkers feel like tourists walking down Mott street. A visual delight for photographers of all sorts, I have tried to capture my essential Chinatown, this time keeping it all square and in color

Eye Wittness News: The Arrival: Washington Square, NYC.

I saw this kid running around, it didn’t make sense at all and it happened so fast, I barely managed to get the shot before everything went black, by the time I woke up, I was alone.

Sometimes it pays off to shoot without a lens hood ;)
