Side by side: Nikon D5000 and Nikon D90

Side by side, Nikon D5000 and Nikon D90 from Mike Kobal on Vimeo.
I did a very quick comparison of the Nikon D5000 and the Nikon D90, in case you are curious about the lens, it is the composer from lensbaby. If you are wondering how they compare in weight, size, buffer, shutter sound and LCD quality, side by side, check it out. Hopefully this clip will provide some useful information to those of you who cannot make it to the local store to handle both cameras. If you find this information helpful, please consider helping me maintaining this blog by purchasing your gear through my product links to B&H. It will cost you nothing and allows me to keep adding! Thank you.

  2. Thanks for the review Mike!

both cameras look great, i use a d90 myself. there are some functions that i prefer over the d5000.

i love being able to use a camera w/o an su800, i also use older AF lenses but the lack of the motor turned me away from the d40/60/5000 family. the weight doesn’t bother me, but that lack of other things that SHOULD be available for the d5000 does.

for the price of the d5000, i want: af motor, microphone jack, front wheel, and wireless TTL.

thanks for the review Mike, and see you in Camlabs.

  5. Hi Mike, good video cheers for that.

Quick question that I cant find an answer for after 45 mins googling…
Is there any difference between the D90 and D5000 photos?

Ive found a zillion reviews on specks but pretty much nothing on how
their ACTUAL PHOTOS compare. Crazy! Are they identical?

    Your help appreciated. Andy
