As a big fan of the original Ricoh GR I was very pleased to see this announcement. Pentax Ricoh finally did it! The price is also right, I pre-ordered mine from BHphotovideo. This should be the street photographers dream! Full specs and more pictures after the break
Just take a look at the control layout, as with previous cameras, Ricoh gets it right ergonomically.
This will also be the lightest and smallest APSC sized camera at 245 grams, the Coolpix A, 290 grams and the Fujifillm X100s at 445 grams.
Ricoh will also release a new 21mm equiv super wide angle conversion lens, GW-3 Wide Conversion Lens, and a GH-3 hood and adapter, I will update this once available for preorder.
You can preorder The Ricoh GR from Adaroma or from BH.
I can’t wait to get my hands on this one!

Hey Craig, I am almost certain it will be, esp for street shooting, the UI has always been very photographer friendly
True, 14 bit would be better, still good though
@Chris K. lol, a little cynicism, couldn’t help it
Mike, better than the Coolpix A? I love it too!
Too bad it only has 12 bit color depth. Otherwise looks great.
Nikon Coolpix A held a throne? Same one as the Canon EOS-M (the throne of “too little, too late”)?
