Wahoo! got my 7d in! I think i see the timer you talked about on ebay, but there are two version listed; compatible with 5d, 50d, 30d nd 20d, or compatible with 350 400,450 and 500. I asume its the first, but wanted to make sure before purchasing. And thanks for the info!

thanks Toby. @ Marty, hard to say, as a still camera the 5D2 is def superior, not by much but enough to make a visible difference in extreme situations and provide a little more dynamic range throughout its iso range, including low iso. Still testing the movie mode, looks like the 7D is better, except for extreme low light.

Just curious about a couple of things. How would you compare this to the 5D? Does it seem smart to tie up 2600 smacker on the 5D when the 7D works well? Do you think the image quality is similar or do you feel the details and low light is worth having the extra capabilites. I own both camera right now but need 1000 buck of acceccsoreis especially the viewfinder to pull focus. What a bitch without some assistnace.

thanks Lou, Damon, Ron and Andre. Damon, you need the intervalometer, got mine from ebay (canon knock off) for thirty bucks. In photoshop played around with b/w convertion and vignetting, created an action then ran all shots through it.

I notice you have Tokina 11-16 F2.8. Purchased same + mint Ebay Canon 24 mm F1.4. (=38.4) The 50 mm F1.4 will be handy (=80 mm) …. Should take care of most events. My 7d is promised for next week.

What did you use for the time lapse feature? Ive been drooing over the Canon intervelometer remote, but just saw a program that does the same when tethered to computer….
