WORTH. A short film with Toby Tanser. Shot with Panasonic Lumix GH2: Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f0.95 wide open

We have been talking about shooting a short film for many month. Finally, we did it. You might remember

Toby’s last minute marathon tips. The goal was to shoot something completely different, not running or charity related, a challenge if your subject is an ultra runner who is building schools and the first children’s hospital in Africa! It took me awhile to come up with an entertaining concept that would allow me to portrait Toby as I know him. Show his respect and passion for everything living, a guy who will try to save the planet (or part of it). My original plan was to shoot this with the 5D2 and my new Cineroid EVF but the weather forecast changed my mind last minute. We moved this shoot around so many times and finally just did it spur of the moment. I grabbed the GH2, the 25mm Nokton, the 14mm pancake lens, a bean bag, Glidecam, 32GB memory card, and two vari filters. That’s it, off we where, I really dig this clip thanks to Toby’s intensity and acting skills, he is just a natural. 1. Nice job all of you!!

I love my Nokton so much that my pancake lens disappeared 2 weeks ago in disgust.
I’ve been hunting high and low for it. Finally, today it’s back in my hot little hands ;-) )
    Take care Mike!!

  7. thanks Marvin! usually I use standard or portrait mode, contrast and sharpening turned all the way down, then very minor tweaks in post, add unsharp mask and slightly steeper curve.
