Black DIY Lens skins for your Sony Alpha Nex Lenses

sony nex 5n with macro 30mm f3.5 and 16mm
The Sony NEX 5n is so good it quickly became my favorite “take it always and anywhere” camera. I have been shooting with it for a couple of weeks now and I am confident that it can handle pretty much any situation and deliver excellent results. It is like having a mini 5D2 in my pocket! Yeah, it’s that good! What’s not to like? The silver finish of the lens!

Amanda Schmidt: City Moments: Sony Nex 5n

Shot during my photo shoot for Aritzia in NYC, since the assignment didn’t call for video, it was a great opportunity to shoot a few experimental clips with my Nex 5n, a Lensbaby and a Computar C-mount 50mm 1.8 lens (readily available on Ebay). Focus peaking is a dream, however it can be a challenge

Lens Test: Sony 30mm f3.5 macro, Industar 28mm 2.8 MF Pancake, Samples and 100% Crops and an easy infinity focus fix for the Industar (video)

Just as I finished the modification on my Industar 28mm lens the doorbell rang and Fedex delivered the 30mm f3.5 macro! Great timing, grabbed my Nex 5n, both lenses, my bike and headed towards the east river. Just on time before the sun went down. I didn’t plan a comparison between the two lenses but since I removed the focus limiter in the Industar and both fall into the “normal field of view” category (the 28mm acts like a 42mm on ff, the 30mm like a 45mm on ff), why not?
