Silentium Est Aureum, Nikon D90 + Lensbaby

SILENTIUM EST AUREUM Nikon D90 + Lensbaby from Mike Kobal on Vimeo.

Not much I can say about this one, just sit back and enjoy the next 60 sec! Got the idea after stumbling across Buster Keaton clips. Arri lights, black backdrop, Lensbabies with plastic lens, single glass and double glass. I really like the plastic lens effect, gives a nice glow. Of course this can be done in post, just does not look the same and takes longer. This session wa a lot of fun, this is Lee at her best! Nikon D90. Royalty free music from Twistedtracks.com.

NYC Spring Day: Nikon D90

NYC Spring Day from Mike Kobal on Vimeo.

After many days of rain we finally had a nice spring day. The urge to go outside was irresistible, I grabbed my D90, a few lenses and headed towards Union square late in the afternoon. Lots of people enjoying themselves. I was lucky that day to be invisible. Unfortunately I don’t have control over it, some days it works, some it does not, and on those days when it does not work, I don’t get anything. CAUTION: In case you are offended by nudity in abstract form – please close your eyes at 0:34 sec you can re-open them at 0:39 sec.
Lenses used: 70-200mm 2.8, 75-150mm 3.5, 17-35mm 2.8 and 58mm 1.4 (voigtlander). Most shots from Union Square, a few other clips mixed it. jazzanova – the remixes 1997-2000 – 06 – karma – high priest. Enjoy!

Alexa: Nikon D90

Alexa from Mike Kobal on Vimeo.

Alexa, another Nikon D90 hybrid project. Not enough time to shoot lots of video, mainly photos this time, and uhmmm, ja, lensbabies again. We shot it in the evening on my friend’s rooftop in Brooklyn, to access it, we climbed out the kitchen window. Very windy. A good tripod (preferably with additional weight hanging from it) is a must. Silver/white reflectors. Music: Love her madly, The Doors. (couldn’t help it)
